A post-mortem examination conducted on the body of Nazim Mohamed, called “Cut Up” has given the cause of death as multiple incise wounds – a total of 45, the police said today.

Mohamed was assaulted at the Leonora Market, West Coast Demerara on January 4, 2022. He was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH), where he succumbed to his wounds.

According to police, the man was a street dweller. A businessman told investigators that prior to finding Mohamed’s body, he saw a man leaving the scene with a cutlass in his hand.

Following the post-mortem examination, Mohamed’s body was handed over to relatives for burial. Investigations are still ongoing.
