Police are reporting that a group of men were engaged in a fight after midnight at the Parika Junction, East Bank Essequibo.

When the cops arrived, they saw one of the men bleeding from his chest. They attempted to break up the melee, but the angry crowd then turned their attention on the police who discharged two rounds in the air. The crowd dispersed. No arrests were made.

The injured man, Dorrel Cambridge, 30, of Lot 62 Namrick, East Bank Essequibo was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where he was seen and exmained by a doctor and later sent away.
