The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has confirmed the death of Sherwin Smith, who was stabbed on Monday night at Settlement Ground, Mabaruma, North West District.
Enquiries disclosed that Smith was stabbed twice by a man, whom police have since arrested.
After the attack, Smith ran to a nearby car and was rushed to the Mabaruma Regional Hospital where he was immediately taken into the Emergency Unit. He was reportedly stabbed to his abdomen and neck.
At about 20:00hrs he succumbed to his injuries.
