In an effort to identify new and strategic ways to conduct traffic enforcement, Deputy Commissioner Operations (ag), Ravindradat Budhram along with Traffic Chief, Superintendent Ramesh Ashram on Saturday, June 18, 2022, met with all of the Force’s Divisional Traffic Heads and Licensing and Certifying Officers countrywide.

The engagement, held at the Officer’s Training Center, was aimed at identifying strategic ways to conduct traffic enforcement, while at the same time maintaining a good relationship with the public.

It is in keeping with the Force’s Strategic Plan of developing its human resources and fostering partnership with key stakeholders, to bridge the divide among citizens and members of the force.

While the meeting was focused on traffic management, Deputy Commissioner ‘Operations’ (ag), Mr Budhram also used the forum to remind the traffic officers of their duties while cautioning them not to abuse their powers as law enforcement officers but rather use it to foster meaningful relations with the public.

“The culture of policing must change, it’s no longer us against them and them against us. While we as Law Enforcement Officers are mandated to enforce the law, it must be done in a professional manner which can result in bridging gaps and building bridges with members of the public and the police as the Force continues to foster partnerships with key stakeholders for safer communities,” Budhram told those in attendance.
