More than 12,000 house lots have been allocated within the last two years, the Housing and Water Minister, Collin Croal said this afternoon during his address at the launch of the International Building Expo at Providence, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

The official noted that since the return of the People’s Progressive Party/ Civic (PPP/C)’s to government, the regime has “re-energized” the housing and construction sector through the introduction of “bold and aggressive” homeownership initiatives at the policy level and reduced the gaps in the application and processing time.

The establishment of new housing developments across Guyana and the upgrading of existing areas within the past two years have been met with “huge smiles of relief” from citizens who are anxious to own their own homes, the Minister said.

“I am pleased that so far, we have allocated almost 12,000 lots in Regions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10; built 1,200 units in Regions 3, 4, 6 and 10 – 300 of which have been handed over to families for occupation; handed out 3,000 certificates of titles and transports as well as allocated lands for commercial and industrial users,” he told the gathering.

Guyana Standard understands that an estimated 5,000 house lots will be allocated at the event.

These lots will be from new blocks within Plantation Great Diamond and Grove, Meten-meer – Zorg, Stewartville and Non-Pariel Enterprise.

  1. Sadly, the non-humans were awarded housing lots among humans of all races.
This will inevitably lead to the destruction of human core values.
Then we will progress to the level of the creatures from Haiti, which I suspect were from the same tribe before they were captured by a victorious tribe – and then sold as slaves to the whites.
