Two cops were among three persons remanded to prison today on drug and ammunition possession charges.

Guyana Standard understands that Police Constables, Albert Beresford, 29, and 22-year-old Julius Cambridge, along with a mason, 32-year-old Sheldon Benjamin, were jointly charged with the possession of narcotics (cannabis) for the purpose of trafficking and the possession of ammunition without a licence.

The trio appeared at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, where the charges were read. They all pleaded not guilty and were remanded to prison until February 28, 2023.
