Police ranks in Regional Division Two are investigating the death of 18-year-old Devendra Khan, who was involved in an accident last Sunday on the Taymouth Manor public road, Essequibo Coast.

Enquiries disclosed that the teenager was driving a motorcycle (CL 9787) which was proceeding south along the eastern side of the Taymouth Manor public road at a fast rate when he allegedly lost control of the motorcycle. He ended up between a bridge and a canal on the easter side of the road.

The injured motorcyclist was picked up by a public-spirited person and transported to the Suddie hospital.

He was examined by Dr Kerman Mookran and pronounced ‘dead on arrival’ (DOA).

The body was taken to the hospital’s mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination. CCTV footage was obtained, and investigations are ongoing.
