A 44-year-old housewife from Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was charged with the offence of acts of terrorism on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Robin Nadata Simon appeared at Sparendaam Magistrate Court 2 on Thursday, March 9, where the charge was read to her. She did not enter a plea, and bail was granted in the sum of $250,000.

The conditions of her bail included the surrendering of her passport and a requirement to report every fortnight at Cove and John Police Station.

The matter has been postponed until March 28, 2023 for a report to be presented to the court.

Simon is among several persons charged within the last two weeks. The charges are in relation to an unruly protest last year along the East Coast of Demerara.
