A 26-year-old taxi driver of Craig, East Bank Demerara (EBD) was on Tuesday last, arraigned before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate Court. He faced two separate charges; one for the illegal possession of a firearm and the other for illegal possession of ammunition.

Dominic Macklingam, during his court appearance yesterday, pleaded guilty to both charges and was later sentenced to two years’ imprisonment along with a fine of $75,000.

He was arrested last week by ranks on mobile anti-crime patrol who were at the time responding to a report of domestic violence at Craig, East Bank Demerara.
