Cops in Georgetown are trying to identify a body they found floating in a trench on Friday morning.

Police say the body of the Indo-Guyanese man was found at around 10:00hrs at the intersection of Dennis Street and ‘B’ Field Sophia.

Detectives visited the scene, and the man’s body was seen clad in a black-and-white striped jersey and long khaki pants. His head was wrapped with a surgical bandage.

Emergency Medical Technicians from Central Fire Station responded, and Doctor Walcott from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation examined the body, which he later pronounced dead.

Investigators checked and found CCTV cameras in the area, which will be reviewed. Several persons were also questioned in the ongoing investigation.
