Cops in Region Four are investigating the alleged drowning of Myles Munroe, a 17-year-old Customer Service Agent of Mocha, East Bank Demerara, which occurred on Saturday last at Chanta Creek, Soesdyke Linden Highway.

According to information obtained by Guyana Standard, Munroe had been at the creek with a group of friends between 1:00 PM and 4:15 PM on the fateful day. However, distress set in when his companions noticed that he had suddenly gone missing, leaving his whereabouts unknown. Concerned for their friend’s safety, an immediate alarm was raised, prompting his friends and some public-spirited individuals to form a search party.

Munroe’s motionless body was found under the water in the said creek. The body was examined, and no marks of violence were seen.

The body was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Center, where Munroe was pronounced dead on arrival. The body was then escorted to the Memorial Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
