Parbhu Mohabir, called “On-Line Shopping” of Lot 78 Martyr’s Ville Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara was arrested on May 5, 2024 for the offence of ‘Break and Enter and Larceny’.

The 58-year-old labourer is accused of committing the act against Felisha’s Kitchen, located at Lot 3 Cove and John Public Road, East Coast Demerara on May 3, 2024.

He appeared yesterday (Wednesday, May 8, 2024) at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Mr. Peter Hugh, where the charge was read to him.

He was not required to plea and was placed on $50,000 bail.

The matter was adjourned to June 11, 2024.

On May 3, 2024, George Semple reported that his business premises ‘Felicia’s Kitchen’ was broken into, and several items were taken including five cases of Canada dry valued $15,000, five cases of Heineken Beer valued $50,000, four cases of flavoured water valued $28,000 and three cases Rude Boy valued $36,000.

The victim claimed he secured his business premises at about 03:20 hrs on May 3, 2024, returned at about 08:20 hrs and found a ‘shutter’ on the northern side of the premises was found open. He made checks and discovered the mentioned items missing. As a result, a report was made to the police.

The scene of the crime was processed, and the establishment’s CCTV cameras checked, which revealed the suspect allegedly committing the act.
