If it wins the September 1, 2025 General and Regional Elections, the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) says it will roll out a series of programmes geared at meeting clear international education performance standards to unlock the full potential of all types of learners.
The party’s manifesto states that these initiatives will contribute not only to citizens’ personal success but to national progress.
The party promises to set SMART goals for the education system and individual schools based on national priorities, stakeholder expectation, and international standards.
It says that a performance audit of the entire education system will be conducted to identify and assess practices that have worked and those that have failed.
It also promises to implement an Education Workforce Action Plan to train, retain and attract teachers and education leaders, inclusive of higher pay and benefits.
It also plans to build modern and conducive teaching and learning environments in schools, inclusive of smart classrooms, free and reliable Internet, modern labs and libraries, proper sports facilities, and reliable supply of materials.
APNU also promises to foster a culture in schools of innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning by providing support and incentives to teachers and education leaders.
It says it will also retain the practice of national assessments to measure and compare school performances.
