Leader of the Opposition Azruddin Mohamed and Constable Ryan Greene were remanded to prison on Friday afternoon by Magistrate Abigail Gibbs at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.

Mohamed was represented by Senior Counsel Roysdayle Forde and Nigel Hughes while Greene was represented by attorney at law Daren Wade.

Bail was refused and the matter was remanded until November 24th.

Mohamed was arrested for allegedly bribing a police constable Ryan Greene who allegedly obtained the CCTV footage of the incident involving Head of Special Branch Prem Narine. It is alleged that Greene exchanged the video footage for $800,000.

The attorneys have indicated that they will be moving to the high court to secure bail.
