The Ministry of Agriculture on Friday joined the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security in observing the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

Staff members of the Ministry wore orange T-shirts, the international symbol of solidarity and support for ending violence against women and girls.

Delivering remarks at the event, Agriculture Minister Zulfikar Mustapha reaffirmed the Ministry’s firm stance against all forms of violence, particularly violence against women. He highlighted the invaluable role women play across the agriculture sector and emphasized that achieving national and regional food security is not possible without their full and equal participation.

The Minister urged continued awareness, advocacy, and collective action to promote safer communities and workplaces for women and girls.
