The trial into the 2021 murder of Keon McPherson took a significant turn on Wednesday evening, as one of the accused, Brenna Nurse, was found not guilty by a unanimous jury verdict.
The matter is being heard before Justice Gino Persaud at the High Court.
According to reports, Nurse had been on trial alongside Nicholas Hercules, Devon Harry and Peter Lam, all of whom were charged with the murder.
Attorney-at-law Bernard Da Silva, who represented Nurse, confirmed that his client was acquitted at approximately 20:30 hrs on Wednesday. He noted that he was assisted during the trial by associate Shemar Parkinson.
The prosecution is being led by Delon Fraser, in association with Padma Dubraj and Ms. Lumumba.
McPherson, 25, of ‘D’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was found dead in a yard at ‘C’ Field, Sophia, with multiple gunshot wounds about his body.
