Reon Speede, called “Pooh,” a 25-year-old taxi driver of Lot 807 Five Miles Housing Scheme, Bartica, has been charged in connection with Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking.
The charge was laid under Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10.
On Monday May 18, 2026, Speede appeared before His Worship Teriq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $200,000.
The matter was adjourned to July 2, 2026, for continuation.
He was charged in connection with the discovery of 12.2 grams of cocaine that was allegedly found during a search on Saturday May 16, 2026, between 21:00hrs and 22:00hrs, at 2 Miles Bartica, Potaro Road, Essequibo River.
