Sonia Williams, the Head Teacher of Kildonan Primary School was struck and killed in a hit and run accident at Rose Hall, Berbice.
The driver allegedly hit Willams on Monday and fled the scene. He has not yet been arrested.
The Kildonan Primary School has extended condolences to the family and friends of its beloved Head Teacher, Sonia Williams.
In a statement, the school said Williams devoted her time and service to education and the wellbeing of pupils and staff. They added that her memories and impact will remain.
“She was more than a leader; she was a dedicated educator, a source of guidance, and a cherished member of our school community.”
The Department of Education, Region #6, has also extended heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Sonia Williams, as well as the staff, parents, and learners of Kildonan Primary School.
The Department noted that her dedication and service to education will be remembered, while her passing will be deeply felt by all who knew her and worked alongside her.
