An 18-year-old miner has been stabbed to death and his two teenage friends are now in police custody.

The deceased has been identified as Clive Osborne of Supenaam, Essequibo. He was stabbed to the chest, forehead, and abdomen.

The Guyana Standard has been informed that the suspects, the deceased, and two other friends were imbibing at a shop in Supenaam, Essequibo when an argument ensued between one of the brothers and the victim. All the men were intoxicated.

The argument led to a scuffle after which the second suspect joined the fight. Reports are that one of the brothers then pulled a knife out of his pocket and proceeded to stab the victim. No one intervened to help the victim.

The badly injured Osborne was rushed to the Suddie Hospital but died before reaching the medical institution. The suspects were nabbed by villagers and handed over to the police. Based on information received, one of the siblings has admitted to the fatal stabbing of Osborne.

The duo is expected to be charged soon.
