Young all-rounder Kevin Sinclair and wicketkeeper/batsman Tevin Imlach have been rewarded for their consistent performances with a call-up to the Guyana Jaguars 13-man squad for the Cricket West Indies’ (CWI) Professional Cricket League (PCL) Regional Four-Day championship which is slated to begin on January 9.

The squad was released earlier on Friday (January 3) by the Guyana Cricket Board.

The Guyana Jaguars are serial winners of the tournament, having done so for the last five consecutive seasons. They will launch their title defence against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes in a day/night fixture in Antigua.

In the run-in to the new season, Berbician Sinclair who is a national U-19 player for Guyana, produced a superb all-round showing in the Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Cup, where he was a key member of the West Indies Emerging Players who eventually won the title.

With the exception of West Indies players Keemo Paul, Shimron Hetmyer and Romario Shepherd, who are on international duty, the majority of last season’s team remains, with the talismanic Leon Johnson leading once again.

Another newcomer, fast bowler Nial Smith, was also handed his maiden PCL call-up, while Devendra Bishoo is also back among the ranks.

The squad is: Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Leon Johnson (Captain), Christopher Barnwell, Vishaul Singh, Devendra Bishoo, Tevin Imlach, Keon Joseph, Raymon Reifer, Anthony Bramble, Veerasammy Permaul, Nial Smith and Kevin Sinclair.

Meanwhile, on the administrative side of things, Esuan Crandon is listed as the Coach with Shivnarine Chanderpaul holding the roles of Assistant Coach and Manager while Neil Barry Jr. is the Physiotherapist.
