A 19-year-old man was today arraigned before a City Magistrate after being accused of stealing a television from the St. Joseph’s Mercy Medical Hospital.

Davin Bess of Pattensen, Turkeyen East Coast Demerara, appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

He denied the charge which stated that between January 6 and January 7, 2020, at Parade Street, Georgetown, he stole one 32 inch flat screen television from St. Joseph’s Mercy Medical Hospital.

According to information, the teenager who works at the institution is currently suspended.

It was reported that during the periods mentioned, he removed the television. When the discovery was made, the matter was reported to the station and he was arrested and charged for the offence.

With no objections raised by the prosecutor, the teen was released on $75,000 bail.

Condition of the bail is that he report to the Brickdam Police Station every week until the hearing and determination of the trial. He was instructed to make his next court appearance on February 5.
