A Port Kaituma man who is accused of raping a woman, was today charged and remanded to prison for the offence.

Forty-five-year-old Alvin Robinson, a machine operator of Citrus Grove, Port Kaituma, appeared before Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

He was not required to plead to the charge which stated that between January 26 and January 27, 2019, at Port Kaituma, he engaged in sexual penetration with a 20-year-old without the victim’s consent.

Robinson was remanded to prison until February 3, 2020 when he will appear before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
