“ I was frustrated so I decided to break into the woman home and steal the phones,” were the words of a man who was sentenced to nine months on a break and enter and larceny charge.

Twenty-three-year-old Ceon Singh appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Singh pleaded guilty to the charge which stated that on March 17,2020 at East LaPenitence, Georgetown, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Tenisha Edwards and stole two phones valued $110,000, a tablet valued $15,000, a bag valued $5,000 and $40,000 cash.

Facts presented by the Court Prosecutor stated that on the day in question at around 01:15 hrs, the victim secured her home and retired to bed. At around 05:45 hrs the woman was awakened by a noise and upon checking, she discovered the articles mentioned in the change missing. The matter was then reported and following investigation Singh was arrested. The court heard that while at the station, Singh admitted to committing the offence. He then took ranks to where the articles were. The Magistrate, after listening to the facts, sentenced Singh to nine months behind bars.
