Sixty-eight-year-old Margaret Dawson was scared to travel in buses to get to work due to the corona virus so she temporarily moved from her Timehri, East Bank Demerara home to Albouystown, Georgetown, with her daughter.

That way, the taxi cost to get to her employment site—Professional Guard Services in Subryanville, Georgetown, would be much cheaper. Little did she know, that move will be the end for her.

Dawson was allegedly killed by the taxi driver she hired to take her to work. The security guard was raped, robbed and killed sometime last night. She left home for work but she never made it there.

Guyana Standard has been told that when the suspect was arrested, two of the victim’s rings were found in his possession.
The woman’s daughter, Wendy Thomas said that her mother was found naked with bruises about her body. She said she heard this morning that a body had been found but paid no attention.
Her daughter, however, went to the location and discovered it was her mother who had been murdered.
The family is calling for justice.
