Ballots contained in 84 boxes were counted today as Day 25 of the recount of votes cast in the March General and Regional Elections came to an end this evening at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre (ACCC), Liliendaal, Greater Georgetown.
According to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM)’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Yolanda Ward: 25 boxes were counted for Region Four (Demerara/Mahaica); 27 for Region Six (East Berbice/Corentyne); six for Region Eight (Pomeroon/Supenaam); and 11 for Region Nine (Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo); and 15 for Region Ten (Upper Demerara/Berbice.

With regards to tabulation, some 1,593 Statements of Recount were processed for the General and 1,597 for Regional Elections.
Today’s exercise brings all boxes processed to 1,635 or 70% of the 2,339 boxes that contained ballots cast in these elections.
