Ballots in 326 boxes are left to be counted, as Day 29 of the recount of votes cast in the March elections came to an end this evening at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre (ACCC).
Some 84 boxes were processed today.
 
According to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM)’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Yolanda Ward, 40 boxes were counted for Region Four (Demerara/Mahaica); 20 for Region Six (East Berbice/Corentyne); and 24 for Region 10 (Upper Demerara/Berbice).
 
The PRO also reported that the processing of boxes in Regions Six and 10 will conclude tomorrow.
 
The other electoral districts that have been completed are: Regions One (Barima/Waini); Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam); Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara): Five (Mahaica/Berbice); Seven (Cuyuni/Mazaruni); Eight (Potaro/Siparuni); and Nine (Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo).
 
Today’s exercise brings the overall total of boxes completed to date, to 2,013 or 86% of the 2,339 boxes that contained ballots cast in these elections.
