A 15-year-old juvenile who a few weeks ago went berserk, stabbing several persons and killing a three-year-old and his brother-in-law, was today slapped with two murder charges.

The teenager appeared via Skype at the Charity Magistrate’s Court before Her Worship Annette Singh and was not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that on August 13, 2020, at Bat Creek Upper Pomeroon River, Essequibo, he murdered Ramdat Singh.

It was further alleged that on August 14, 2020, he murdered three-year-old Kissoon Williams.

He was remanded to the Juvenile Holding Centre until September 21, 2020.

The child died at the Suddie Hospital intensive Care Unit. While Singh was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Following the incident, the matter was reported to the police and an investigation was carried out. The juvenile, when arrested was observed with a stab wound to the chest area and a cut around his neck. Reports indicate that the wounds were self-inflicted, in an attempt to end his life.

The juvenile, in the presence of his father, was taken to the Charity Police Station and afterward escorted to the Charity Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty, treated for his injuries, and sent away.
Meanwhile, the other two children and the suspect’s two sisters remain hospitalized.
