The body of 49-year-old, Sarwan Mahadeo, of lot 39 Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara, was discovered in a cemetery partially on a tomb.
The police were summoned, visited and examined the body, but noticed no marks of violence. The body was then escorted to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where it was examined by a doctor on duty.
Sarwan was pronounced dead.
The body was then escorted to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour, where it is awaiting a post mortem examination.
Police say that several persons were questioned, but no useful information was received. Investigations are continuing.
