Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred about 23:30hrs last night on the Yarrowkabra Public Road, Soesdkye/Linden Highway which resulted in the death of motorcyclist Dayle Jordan, 36, of La Retraite, West Bank Demerara.
Enquiries disclosed that a motor pickup driven by a 51-year-old resident of Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice was proceeding north along the western side of the said road when a motorcycle driven by the Jordan, along with a pillion rider allegedly overtook a car and ended up in the path of the truck, causing a collision.
Jordan was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The pillion rider, who has been identified as a female 29-year-old resident of La Retraite, WBD, was admitted a patient.
The driver of the motor truck was breathalysed and found to be above the legal limit of alcohol intake with .77% and .70% micrograms.
He is in custody assisting with the investigation.
