The number of COVID-19 cases has surpassed the 7,000 mark since Guyana confirmed its first imported case back in March, 2020.

The Health Ministry’s dashboard published today, shows 7,015 cases, with 65 new infections recorded within the last 24 hours.

Also, some 6,266 persons would have recovered from the virus. The death toll remains at 170, with seven patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 29 in institutional isolation, 543 in home isolation, and 22 in institutional quarantine.

Guyana has conducted 45,075 tests to date.

The global death count is 2,050,857.
