The Ministry of Health (MOH) has informed that as of March 22, 2021, two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 218.
The latest fatalities are a 74-year-old female from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) who died while receiving care at a medical facility, and an 82-year-old male from Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) who died at his home. A swab test was done on arrival to the medical facility, which revealed a positive result for COVD-19.
All Guyanese are reminded to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES (NO.15), which are in effect until March 31, 2021. This order emphasises:
1. the need for correct and consistent use of a face mask when leaving your home;

3. and the need for good hand-hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
