The Ministry of Health (MOH) has informed that as of July 02, 2021, another person who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 488.

The latest fatality is one 50-year-old female from Region 9 (Upper Takutu – Upper Essequibo) who died while receiving care at a medical facility.

Meanwhile, the country has recorded an additional 74 cases. Guyana has now confirmed 20,305 since it recorded its first imported case back in March 2020.

Of that number, 18,305 have recovered.

There are 18 COVID-19 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 1,410 in home isolation, 95 in institutional isolation, and nine in institutional quarantine.
