A 68-year-old pensioner was assaulted and robbed this morning by four men on motorcycles at Thomas and New Market Streets, Georgetown.
She was relieved of one Samsung cellphone valued $34,000 and $72,000 in cash.
Investigations reveal that the victim was headed to clinic around 05:00hrs, and whilst on Thomas and New Market Streets, she was approached by four men riding on two motorcycles.
One of the suspects began to assault the pensioner by hitting her about her body with his hands before relieving her of her handbag which contained the articles mentioned.
They then made good their escape in an unknown direction. Investigations are ongoing.
