Police have arrested 34-year-old, Hemraj Sankar, called ‘Raymond’ for the rape of a child under 16 years old.
He was nabbed yesterday afternoon at the Diamond Housing Scheme Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
Guyana Standard understands that a party of policemen from the Golden Grove/Diamond Police Station on a vehicle patrol came upon the suspect who was identified as the said perpetrator and is wanted in Region Two in relation to a matter of Rape of a Child Under 16 Years.
He was arrested and placed into custody at Golden Grove/Diamond Police Station and will be transferred to Region Two for the continuation of the said matter.
