Ryan Chung, 35, a cook of lot 24 Soesdyke Public Road, East Coast Demerara, was charged yesterday at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court for allegedly setting fire to a house in his village.
The charge was laid under *Section 140 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act Chapter 8:01. The accused appeared before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman who read the charge to him and he pleaded not guilty.
He was remanded to prison and the matter was adjourned to January 3 for filing of statements.
