Danesh Mahadeo, a 28-year-old taxi driver of Lot 137, La Bonne Intention (LBI) Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was today remanded to prison on a gun related charge.
Mahadeo was arrested two days ago by police ranks from the Cove and John Police Station and charged with the offences of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition without being the holder of a firearm license, contrary to section 16(2)(a) of the Firearm Act, Chapter 16:05.
He appeared at the Cove and John Magistrate Court earlier today before Her Worship Ms F. Azore, where the aforementioned charges were read to him.
He entered a not guilty plea and was remanded to prison until 8th March, 2022 for report.
