Twenty-eight-year-old Lester Leander, a miner of Lot 337 Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden was today sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for the offense of setting fire to a dwelling house, when he appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court via Zoom.

Leander was arrested two days ago for the offence which was committed on the dwelling house of Tricia Glen of Obama Drive, Squatting Area, South Amelia’s Ward Linden between January 28 and 29 this year.

He was charged under Section 141 of the Criminal Law Offences Act Chapter 8:01 and today pleaded guilty. The magistrate subsequently handed down the sentence.
