Today, the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport and the National Sports Commission concluded their Easter swimming programme.

The event was attended by the Minister of Culture Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson; the Director of Sports for the National Sports Commission, Steve Ninvalle; one of the Commissioners of the National Sports Commission, Cristy Campbell; and the President of the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association, Dwayne Scott.

Speaking at the event, the Minister announced that the programme will be an annual one because it was so successful and added that there will be, for the first time, sports and culture summer camps organized by the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport commencing this year.May be an image of 7 people, child, people sitting, people standing and outdoors

Minister Ramson also announced that the ministry purchased pool touchpads which are expected to arrive next month for the commencement of the Sports Academy for swimming. Minister Ramson said that the touchpads cost around $8M and will allow accurate timing of swim races and for Guyana to host international swim meets.
