Contracts for the construction of an $11B four-lane highway linking Schoonord on the West Bank of Demerara to Crane on the western coast of the Demerara River were inked today.

The procuring entity is the Ministry of Housing and Water and the contractors are: VR Construction Inc, Avinash Contracting & Scrap Metal Inc, L-Heureuse Construction and Services Inc, Guyamerica Construction Inc, AJM Enterprise, Vals Construction, Puran Bros Disposal Inc, and JS Guyana Inc.

According to documents seen by this publication, the road will measure 4.1 kilometers and will feature an emergency lane, bridges, and roundabouts.
