A brand-new hydraulic/mobile pump has been installed at the Payo Canal, providing critical drainage support to farmers operating within the Little Biaboo impoldering area.

The pump is expected to benefit approximately 50 farmers engaged in a range of agricultural activities by improving water management and enhancing the area’s drainage capacity.

The installation forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen drainage and irrigation infrastructure and support agricultural productivity.

The pump will also provide benefits to farmers in parts of Region Four along the Mahaica River, further enhancing agricultural resilience and production in the area. (Ministry of Agriculture/Facebook)
