Five more persons who tested positive for COVID-19, have died, taking the death count in Guyana to 1,176, the Ministry of Health has informed. The latest fatalities are five Region Four residents: four women, ages 41, 86, 63, and 80; and an 81-year-old man.
Guyana has also recorded 276 new cases of the virus, thereby increasing the number of infections since March 2020 to 60,385 from 510,686 tests.
There are 12 persons in the ICU, 184 in institutional isolation, 8,399 in home isolation, and 17 in institutional quarantine. Some 50,614 persons have recovered to date.
