President Ali has maintained that his farm was established many years ago and that he obtained his first loan for the operation around 2012.
Speaking to reporters on concerns surrounding the property, Ali said he had declared all matters connected to the farm to the Integrity Commission. He also noted that a number of private-sector leaders have visited the operation.
The president said he plans to conduct a live broadcast from the farm at an appropriate time, arguing that the venture’s development and financing have been transparent.
“I have nothing to hide. Every single thing has been declared to the Integrity Commission,” Ali said. “I have taken loans, I have reinvested.”
Ali said that the farm existed years prior to his tenure.
According to Ali the size of the farm disclosed by Leader of the Opposition Azruddin Mohamed is incorrect and that his farm is not half the size.
