After he pleaded guilty to raping two minor girls and a woman, 22-year-old Leon Jordan was this morning ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation by High Court Judge Brassington Reynolds.

Jordan was arraigned at the High Court in Georgetown this morning where he admitted that on February 2, 2012 in Demerara he engaged in sexual penetration with a 7-year-old girl. He further admitted that on January 13, 2013 in Demerara he had sexual penetration with a 14-year-old girl. Further, Jordan confessed to having sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent.

In his address to the court, Jordan reasoned that talking the truth is the right thing to do. In turn, Justice Reynolds told him that he needs specialised help and ordered that Jordan should be seen by a psychiatrist.

The confessed rapist returns to court on June 26, 2019 when a probation report on him will be presented to the court, followed by sentencing.

Prosecutors Abigail Gibbs and Seeta Bishundial appeared for the state while lawyer Maxwell McKay represented Jordan.
