The incident occurred at about 18:45 hrs and involved a motor pickup owned by the Ministry of Housing being driven by a 42-year-old man of Lodge Housing Scheme.

The 42-year-old driver told investigators that he was proceeding north along the western carriageway on the eastern lane of the Diamond Public Road, and while in the vicinity of Courts, he saw the pedestrian standing on the concrete median.

However, at about 02:22 hrs this morning, Doodnauth took his last breath. The body is presently at the Hospital’s mortuary awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME).

A breathalyser test was conducted on the driver, but no trace of alcohol was found. He remains in custody, assisting with the Investigation.
