Former Alliance For Change (AFC) member Charrandass Persaud has attended today’s sitting of the National Assembly, held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.

Persaud’s last sitting within the National Assembly was on December 21, 2018, when he made the unprecedented move of voting against his own government in a no-confidence motion tabled by the opposition, effectively triggering an early election.

The former Member of Parliament departed Guyana’s shores for Canada on the night of December 21. But he returned to Guyana after the People’s Progressive Party/ Civic (PPP/C) took office on August 2, 2020.
