A man accused of breaking into Cuba Dollar store and carting off a number of items was remanded to prison today.

29-year-old Tony Singh of no fixed place of abode appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The charge stated that while being in the company of others between January 4, 2021, and January 5, 2021, at Lot 178 Alexander Street, Georgetown, he broke and entered the Cuba Dollar store.

It is alleged that he and others stole a quantity of clothing valued $3,448,700, curtains valued $225,000, blankets valued at $102,000, 91 bottles of sanitizers valued $100,000, electrical items valued $66,000, and one water dispenser valued $30,000.

Additionally, he stole one DVR and CCTV cameras valued at $149,000 – Natoya Sills’ property.
