Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony has informed the media that Guyana has not recorded a single case of anyone experiencing blood clots after receiving the Astrazeneca vaccine.
Dr. Anthony said that Guyana will continue using the jab in its drive to vaccinate as many Guyanese as possible in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Guyana has so far secured 107,000 doses of AstraZeneca. While the vaccine is endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO), some have strong concerns. Consternation stem from the fact that a very small number of people developed blood clots after receiving the vaccine.
