Health Minister, Dr Anthony reported today that there are 124 persons hospitalised with the COVID-19 virus. There are 88 patients alone at the Infectious Disease Hospital at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara (ECD), with 33 in the facility’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Sixteen pregnant women have tested positive for the virus, with six housed at the Liliendaal Hospital and 10 at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

Some 848 persons have died since Guyana confirmed its first imported case back in March 2020. Over the last 24 hours, the Minister said, six more patients have succumbed to the virus. Of the 848 fatalities, 464 were males (54.7%) and 384 (45.3%) females.
