Two individuals, 35-year-old Vijai Basraj of Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara (ECD) and 32-year-old Joel Primo, a businessman of Success, ECD were both arrested and charged by police ranks from the Beterverwagting Police Station with the offence of disposing litter in a public way: contrary to Section 3(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1996.
Both accused appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court today before Her Worship, Ms A. George, where the charge was read to them separately and both pleaded not guilty.
Bail was granted in the sum of $30,000. The case was postponed for March 22, 2022 for trial.
