Law enforcement officials from Regional Division 7 apprehended a man at the 70KM Police Checkpoint after discovering marijuana concealed inside a five-gallon bucket. The individual was identified as Quacy Steven Wright, one of the occupants in a motor lorry bearing license plate number GLL 1703.

The Guyana Police Force reported that officers conducted a routine stop of the vehicle, which was being driven by a 27-year-old resident of Itaballi Landing. Along with the driver, there were five other occupants, including Quacy Steven Wright. Initial searches of the individuals and their personal belongings did not yield any illegal substances.

However, during a subsequent thorough search, one of the officers uncovered a grey five-gallon bucket in the truck’s tray. Inside the bucket was a red plastic bag containing marijuana leaves, seeds, and stems.

Following the discovery, the police officers proceeded to interview the driver and passengers, including Quacy Wright. In response to their questioning, Wright admitted, “Officer, I bought the weed from a pusherman at Timehri.”

The confiscated marijuana was weighed in the presence of the suspect, amounting to a total of 560 grams. As a result, he was taken into custody.
